Organizational Leadership in Value

National Rural Health Resource Center

Whether you are in a formal organizational leadership role or not, your ability to rally your colleagues and community to understand and embrace value-based care (VBC) is essential to your hospital or clinic's path toward VBC. This session offers strategies and tactics for influencing and leading toward VBC in a rural health care organization and community, as well as explores risks and unintended consequences important for you to understand when leading in value-based care and payment environment.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 

  • Recognize essential components to being a credible, influential, and empathetic rural health leader in a VBC context
  • Identify likely barriers and resistance to VBC and VBP, and potential approaches to address them
  • Reflect on your leadership in a VBC context and identify areas for growth or action
