The National Rural Health Resource Center (The Center)

DRCHSD Rural Health Clinic Webinar Series (1 of 2)

Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Emergency Preparedness

Description:  All RHCs, whether provider-based or freestanding, are required to develop and implement emergency preparedness policies and procedures based on communication plans, risk assessments and emergency procedures that are specific to that RHC.  The emergency preparedness plan must also be reviewed and updated at least every two years, or on a more frequent basis depending on the established policies and procedures of the RHC.  This presentation will discuss the overall requirements of an emergency preparedness plan as well as what must be done on a continual basis to remain compliant with emergency preparedness requirements.

Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of the requirements of an emergency preparedness plan as identified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Identify the documentation needed to demonstrate compliance with the emergency preparedness plan requirements.
  • Identify common deficiencies related to the emergency preparedness plan identified during initial certification or recertification surveys.

Audience: RHC staff or anyone interested in the topic.

Speaker(s): FORVIS Consulting

This webinar was sent out ahead of time to actively participating cohort members. If you or someone you know would like to join the webinar, please reach out to Caleb Lozinski.
