Rural Health Workforce Resources: Delta Doctors and AmeriCorps NCCC

Back by popular demand, the DRCHSD Program is once again collaborating with the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) and AmeriCorps to bring you the Rural Health Workforce Resources webinar!

While no magic bullet will resolve the rural healthcare workforce shortage, many organizations and communities have benefited from workforce resources available through two important programs.

The Delta Doctors program allows nondomestic physicians trained in this country to work in health professional shortage or medically underserved areas for three years through a J-1 visa waiver. AmeriCorps National Civilian Conservation Corps (AmeriCorps NCCC) provides teams of young adults to provide hands-on work for short-term projects targeting initiatives such as infrastructure improvement, community outreach and education.

In this webinar, you’ll learn about the goals, benefits and responsibilities associated with each of these programs. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions to help you make informed decisions about the fit of these programs for your organization.

Speakers: •    Christina Wade, Health Program Manager, Delta Regional Authority •    Tamika Eatmon, Assistant Program Director, AmeriCorps NCCC - Southern RegionFor any questions, please reach out to Caleb Lozinski
