What is one Core Competency your state Flex Program is working on developing through Flex activities?
Selected Core Competency: Addressing Community Needs
Georgia’s Flex Program is focusing on addressing community needs through one of its quality improvement initiatives. The project goals are to determine the best opportunities for improvement and recommended courses of actions, and provide best practice guidance and training tools needed to drive improvement. Twenty-eight of Georgia’s 30 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) have implemented screening health needs and are providing resources to those screening positive. CAHs have identified these resources through collaboration with state, federal, and community stakeholders.
What is one activity your state is funding through SHIP?
One of the three consortia programs Georgia State office of Rural Health (SORH) developed for Small Rural Hospital Improvement Program (SHIP) hospitals is the Revenue Integrity Solutions and Education (RISE) program where rural hospital revenue cycle staff receive education to improve key performance indicators by implementing process improvements. Led by subject matter experts, multiple hospital departments will gain an overall understanding of all areas of the revenue cycle over the five-year grant cycle.
