DRCHSD Finance Series: Quantifying the Rural Value Proposition to Existing and Prospective Partners
Session Description: As the payment system evolves from Fee-for-Service to value/population-based payment, rural health systems have an increasing value proposition in the healthcare market. However, rural hospitals and health systems are often misunderstood by larger health systems. This misunderstanding has led to the undervaluation, both historically and likely in the future, of rural health systems. This presentation highlights important value drivers of rural health systems, and how they can be show-cased to the benefit these rural systems and their communities.
Time: Thursday, July 14th from 11:00 – 12:00 pm CST
Speaker: Eric Shell, CPA, MBA and Jeff Sommer, MPP - Stroudwater Associates
Learning Objectives:
Ensure that rural hospitals and health systems understand the unique attributes and value that they bring to existing and prospective system partners
Outline the fundamental value drivers for rural provider organizations that existing and prospective partners should understand to create win-win, sustainable partnerships and affiliations
Provide a framework to help rural hospitals and health systems engage with existing and prospective system partners so appropriate resources and investments in rural communities are realized
Define the processes and structures that will best optimize the rural value proposition
Invitations will be sent out to participants prior to the date of the event. If you have any questions about this webinar or any other in the series, please do not hesitate to contact Caleb Lozinski or Nick McRae.
This interactive learning collaborative will support middle managers and informal leaders in rural health care to explore practical leadership skills to advance value-based care initiatives in their organizations and communities.
This webinar topic will focus on the building a sustainable rural EMS workforce, based off of the recently released summit guide titled, Building a Sustainable Rural Health Workforce for the 21st Century. The guide includes strategies focused on four key areas, all of which are applicable to rural EMS.
